Dive into the Summer Reading Club!

Registration is now open!

Join the TD Summer Reading Club, Canada’s largest summer reading program for kids and teens of all interests and abilities!

This year’s theme, "Dive In!", invites you to experience a summer of splash filled storytelling where imagination runs as deep as the sea. Enjoy weekly stickers, fun prizes, and exciting grand prizes as you chart your own reading adventure.

How does it work?

  1. Visit the library: Drop by any Oakville Public Library branch to register. You’ll get your very own Summer Reading Club tracker.
  2. Set your reading goal: How many books will you read each week? Pick a goal that works for you (one book, two books, or more!).
  3. Read toward your goal: Open a book and enjoy the adventure. Read a little each day or all at once.
  4. Track to collect prizes: Bring your tracker to the library each week to track your progress by collecting a sticker, then collect your prizes according to the schedule.
  5. Join the fun: Take part in awesome crafts, games, and activities at the library all summer. Visit our Programs and Events page to see what’s happening.
  6. Keep visiting for a chance to win: Visit the library and track your reading for three weeks to earn an entry into our end-of-summer grand prize draw. You could win fun prizes like beach gear, sports equipment, lawn games, musical instruments, and more!

Fire Safety Storytime

Stop by the library for a special storytime, led by a member of the Oakville Fire Department.  It is a great opportunity for your little one to learn about fire safety, hear a story read by a fire fighter, meet Blaze the dragon, and then head outside for a demonstration of how the fire fighters put on their gear, see the fire truck up close and take a quick tour of the cab.

Reel in a good read with our reading pond!

Cast a line and discover your next great read at our playful Reading Pond. Children can “fish” for colourful sea creatures, each marked with a letter of the alphabet, and match them to fun book recommendations. This hands-on activity brings together early literacy and imaginative play, creating an engaging way for young readers to explore books and learn about ocean life. Stop by a branch today to catch your next adventure!
